BSL-interpreted gallery tour of Tenderness and Rage, Wellcome

Wellcome Collection, Gallery 3

A free guided tour of the Tenderness and Rage display in Gallery 3 at Wellcome Collection on Euston Road, interpreted into British Sign Language. A member of the Visitor Experience and Engagement team walks you round the exhibition, explores its themes and gives a personal view of the artworks and objects, and you are invited to ask questions and share your own responses. A BSL interpreter translates for the guide and during group discussions. Booking is through the Wellcome page for this event, and the display itself runs until 13 December. Because the tour is a small group conversation rather than a lecture, it is an easy way to see a London exhibition with other people. «BSL Interpreted Tours of Tenderness and Rage» Starts 14:30, ends about 15:30. BSL-interpreted tour of The Coming of Age, Wellcome Collection

Wellcome Collection, Gallery 1

A free guided tour of the exhibition The Coming of Age in Gallery 1 at Wellcome Collection on Euston Road, with a British Sign Language interpreter. Visitors are invited to ask questions and share their own reactions, and the interpreter translates for the guide and for the group discussion that follows. Booking is through Eventbrite, but a ticket does not guarantee a place: the museum asks you to arrive 15 minutes before the start, and a waiting list may operate if the tour is full. The tour takes an hour on a Wednesday late morning and is a relaxed way to see a London exhibition in company. «BSL Interpreted Tours of The Coming of Age» Starts 11:30, ends about 12:30. Wellcome Collection, Information Point (level 0)

Artist and facilitator Rubbena Aurangzeb-Tariq leads a Deaf-led tour of the exhibition The Coming of Age at Wellcome Collection, starting from the Information Point just inside the entrance on level 0. She guides the group through selected objects and themes in the show, among them adolescence and the ways experiences of age differ across cultures and societies. The tour is delivered entirely in British Sign Language, with no voiceover or audio, and everything said during the tour and the conversation takes place in BSL, with chances to ask questions and share your own perspective. Entry is free and booked through Eventbrite, but a ticket does not guarantee a place, so arrive 15 minutes early. It runs one hour on Saturday afternoon, 7 November. «BSL Tours of 'The Coming of Age' with Rubbena Aurangzeb-Tariq» Starts 14:00, ends about 15:00. Audio-described tour of Tenderness and Rage, Wellcome Collection

Wellcome Collection, Information Point (level 0)

A free audio-described tour of the Tenderness and Rage display at Wellcome Collection on Euston Road, meeting at the Information Point on level 0. The exhibition explores HIV and AIDS through stories of protest and care, from the height of the UK's AIDS epidemic in the 1980s and 1990s to experiences of HIV around the world today. Your guide is trained in audio description, so the tour puts the key visual elements into words as well as discussing the highlights of the show. Tickets are booked through Eventbrite, though the museum notes that a booking for a free in-person event does not guarantee a place and asks visitors to arrive 15 minutes before the start. It lasts one hour on Wednesday 11 November, late morning. «Audio Described Tours of 'Tenderness and Rage'» Starts 11:30, ends about 12:30. Audio described gallery tour at Wellcome Collection, London

Wellcome Collection, Gallery 2

Wellcome Collection offers a free audio described tour of its two current exhibitions, Audrey Amiss: The Surviving Exhibitions and Rudy Loewe: Intimacies of Care. A guide describes the key visual elements of each show and talks through highlights from both, which suits blind and partially sighted visitors and anyone who enjoys a spoken, detailed way of looking. The tour takes place in Gallery 2 on Wednesday 18 November from 15:30 to 16:30, during a Lights Up session in which the gallery has brighter, more even lighting. Groups are small, so a place must be booked in advance through the ticket link on the event page. The page advises arriving fifteen minutes early and mentions a waiting list for full sessions. A small guided tour is a gentle way to take part alone. «Lights Up and Audio Described Tours of the Audrey Amiss and Rudy Loewe Exhibitions» Starts 15:30, ends about 16:30. Low-stim evening opening of two exhibitions, Wellcome Collection

Wellcome Collection, Gallery 2

Wellcome Collection runs a free low-stim evening session for its exhibitions Audrey Amiss: The Surviving Exhibitions and Rudy Loewe: Intimacies of Care, on Thursday 19 November from 18:00 to 20:00. A low-stim session is designed to reduce extra sensory stimulation. The page lists fewer people in the galleries, lower light levels and lower sound levels in the gallery and around the building, and it asks visitors to keep their phones on silent, speak quietly and avoid strong scents. The rest of the building is closed to other visitors, so a ticket must be booked through the event page. Booking does not guarantee a place, so the page advises arriving fifteen minutes early. Gallery 2 is on level 1, with stairs and a lift. It is a calm way to visit alone. «Low-stim Openings of the 'Audrey Amiss' and 'Rudy Loewe' exhibitions» Starts 18:00, ends about 20:00.
