Alegría-Dulantzi, a small town in the Álava plain just east of Vitoria-Gasteiz, celebrates Halloween night with its Dulantzi Musika Fest and a free concert by The Ex's in the town square. The Musika Bizian festival in Galdakao, just up the valley from Bilbao, brings a free open-air double bill to Iturriondo square: the Galician folk band Faltriqueira and Kalakan, the Basque trio from Hendaye known for minimalist, percussion-and-voice versions of traditional songs. On Friday 30 October the municipal library of Sestao, in the Bilbao area, offers a storytelling session for adults under the title Cuentos Mortales, which means deadly tales. Kulturklik classes it as theatre. The listing gives no summary of the stories, so the programme itself is a surprise, but the date, just before Halloween, and the title suggest an evening of dark and macabre tales told aloud for a grown-up audience.
