Free African film and discussion at La Perrera, Bilbao

LA PERRERA

On Friday 30 October 2026 at 18:30 La Perrera, the BilbaoArte space on Calle Sabino Arana in Bilbao, holds a film session within the eighth Afrikarte African cultural fair. The programme screens the fiction film Têtes Brûlées by Maja-Ajmia Yde Zellama as a starting point for a shared discussion on grief, identity, belonging and community. After the screening there is a participatory conversation, and the evening is rounded out with dance and body expression as ways of connecting. It is led by the group Afrikaldia and the NGO Karityöbö África en Género from an intercultural, feminist and community perspective. The organiser lists the activity as free with limited capacity, and advance registration through the organiser's online form is required. A guided discussion after a film gives people who come alone an easy way into conversation. The end time is estimated. «AFRIKARTE 2026: CINE AFRICANO Y COLOQUIO» Starts 18:30, ends about 21:00. Basque folk-dance romería, Plaza San Pedro, Deusto, Bilbao

Plaza San Pedro (Deusto)

On Sunday at midday the dancers of Deustuko Folklore Taldeak perform a romería, a traditional open-air dance gathering, in Plaza San Pedro in Bilbao’s Deusto district. It is one of the free neighbourhood meetings in the city council’s Dantza Plazetan programme, which this year brings Basque folk dance into the squares and streets of Bilbao with 58 meetings between January and December. The wider programme also includes parades of giants and displays of dance, with the aim of promoting local culture and encouraging neighbours to take part and mix. Entry is free, the event takes place outdoors and no booking is mentioned. The listing gives a start time of 12:30 but no end time, so we assume the gathering ends about 14:00. Arkeologi Museoa

On Saturday 14 November the Arkeologi Museoa in Bilbao hosts Whodunnit?, a mystery game designed for the museum as part of the Musekintza programme. Only the writer Mikel Santiago knows who committed the murder in the museum, and he is present as host of the game. The story to be solved is told by three actors who play the main suspects, and the audience explores parts of the museum that are not usually visited while searching for the culprit. The listing shows two sessions, at 18:00 and 20:00, and this entry covers the first one. Entry is free, with prior registration required through the link on the page. The language is Spanish. The session starts at 18:00 and ends about 19:30, an unusual puzzle outing that suits a solo visitor who enjoys teaming up with strangers. «Musekintza 2026: "Whodunnit?"» Starts 18:00, ends about 19:30. Reading corner on Katixa Agirre, La Sinsorga, Bilbao

La Sinsorga, kulturgune feminista

On Wednesday 18 November La Sinsorga, a feminist cultural space in Bilbao, holds a session of its new reading corner. Three sessions and three books make up the series, and Alaine Agirre leads the group. This evening's book is Barne zerbitzuak by the Basque writer Katixa Agirre. The idea, as the listing puts it, is a space to think and talk together from the reading, so you are expected to have read or at least started the book. Entry is free and the listing gives no booking information. The language is Basque. The session starts at 18:30 and the listing gives no end time, so we assume it finishes around 20:30. A small reading group in a community space is a good way to meet people in a new city while talking about a contemporary novel. «Irakurketa txokoa: "Barne zerbitzuak" (Katixa Agirre)» Starts 18:30, ends about 20:30. Film dialogue on Cría cuervos at AZ Azkuna Zentroa, Bilbao

AZ Azkuna Zentroa

On Tuesday 24 November 2026 AZ Azkuna Zentroa in Bilbao holds the November session of Diálogos de cine, linked to the Zinemateka cycle on the filmmakers of the Spanish transition, 1976 to 1984, tales of a country in transformation. This month the conversation centres on Cría cuervos, the 1976 film by Carlos Saura, which uses the story of an affluent Madrid family to offer a critical and symbolic look at Spanish society in the last years of the Franco era. The listing calls it one of the most representative films of the period. Kulturklik lists the price as 3 euros, and the session is in Spanish. The listing gives no end time, so about two hours is assumed. A guided film conversation is a good evening to attend alone, since everyone has just watched or discussed the same film and has plenty to say. «DIÁLOGOS DE CINE. Local bands TROS_18 and SOMAK, Bilborock, Bilbao

Bilborock

On Friday evening 27 November the Bilborock music venue on Muelle de la Merced in Bilbao hosts a double bill of two local groups, TROS_18 and SOMAK. The Kulturklik listing, which takes its information from the city's youth portal Bilbao Gazte, is brief: it only says the bands will play in the Bilborock hall, without describing their style, so this is an evening for people who like to discover young local music rather than follow a famous headliner. Entry is free according to the page. The language is given as mixed, including Basque. The concert starts at 20:00; the source gives no end time, so we assume it ends at about 22:30. Bilboko Kafe Antzokia

On Saturday 5 December two bands, 48280 and Zilibito Records, play a concert at the Kafe Antzokia, a music venue and bar in Bilbao on Calle San Vicente. Tickets are sold in two tiers, from 10 euros, and we use the lower price. The language is Basque. The listing gives no end time, so we assume the show finishes around 23:30. It starts at 21:30. Bilbao Symphony Orchestra Mozart divertimento concert, Euskalduna

Palacio Euskalduna

On Monday 1 March the Bilbao Orkestra Sinfonikoa, known as the BOS, performs at the Euskalduna Palace as part of its 2026-2027 season under the title A divertimento for Nannerl. The programme listed on Kulturklik brings together José Elizondo's Latin American Dances, Johann Nepomuk Hummel's Quartet for clarinet and strings in E flat major and Mozart's Divertimento K. 251. The mix of chamber-sized works makes it a gentle, intimate evening for an orchestra concert, and it is a good way to sample live classical music in Bilbao without a large budget. Tickets cost 12 euros and are sold online. The listing is in Spanish. It begins at 19:30 and ends about 21:00. «Bilbao Orkestra Sinfonikoa (BOS): "Un divertimento para Nannerl"» Starts 19:30, ends about 21:00. RPG-7, Kalerizo and Diskonformes punk-rock night, D8, Bilbao

D8 Sorkuntza Faktoria

On Friday 30 April 2027 at 20:00 the D8 Sorkuntza Faktoria, a creation and music space on Untziola street in Zorrotza, on the west side of Bilbao along the estuary, hosts a triple bill with the bands RPG-7, Kalerizo and Diskonformes. The Kulturklik listing, taken from the venue's own agenda, gives only the line-up, the time and the price: advance tickets cost 10 euros. Three bands on one bill usually means an evening of short, loud sets with breaks in between, the classic format of Basque rock and punk nights, with time to grab a drink and chat at the bar between groups. The end time here is an estimate for three sets. D8 is an old industrial building turned into rehearsal rooms and a concert hall, and its gigs draw a mixed local crowd. A cheap Friday gig on the eve of May Day is an easy night out alone, too. «RPG-7 + KALERIZO + DISKONFORMES» Starts 20:00, ends about 23:00.
