This page only adds a view. Bars, pubs and every other listing stay exactly where they are on Come Alone. Dry January, Damp January (drinking less) or neither: all fine.

Damp January
Or just drink less
Not everyone wants a full month dry. A damp January means choosing which nights have a drink in them: keep the pub quiz, skip the third round. Everything on this page works for both.

How it works
A month of evenings out: how it works
- Pick one regular thing a week, such as a run club on Wednesday or a game night on Friday. A fixed slot is easier to keep than a plan.
- Open the official page and check the date, time and price; January schedules shift after the holidays.
- Open Meet & Mint to see who else is going and say hi in the event chat. Many of the events on our sites are also in the app.
- Order what you like. Use the phrases above if it helps; nobody at a quiz or a run-club coffee is counting.
Questions people ask
What is Dry January?
Dry January is a campaign to not drink alcohol for the month. In the UK it is run by the charity Alcohol Change UK. Some people do Damp January instead and simply drink less. Either way you can still go out.
Where can I go in January if I’m not drinking?
Run clubs, game nights, language cafés, sauna socials, daytime and alcohol-free dance events, libraries and book clubs. This page lists 645 of them in 47 cities, each from a page we checked and with the date we checked it.
Do you hide bars and pubs?
No. This section only highlights alcohol-free and alcohol-optional options. Bars and pubs stay in every other listing on Come Alone, and a pub quiz or a language night in a pub is still welcome to a person drinking an alcohol-free beer.
How do I know which events are alcohol-free?
Where an organiser’s page says so, the card carries a tag: Alcohol-free or Alcohol optional (soft clubbing), Alcohol-free (sauna), After the run: coffee (run clubs). Most other formats are about the activity, not the drink, and carry no tag. 16 listings could only be seen in search results and are marked unconfirmed.
Is this medical advice?
No. It is a list of places to go. If you are worried about your drinking, talk to a doctor or a local support service.
