Movember 2026, and you do not have to go alone.

Movember runs through the month of November (1 to 30 November 2026). Its Move challenge asks you to run or walk 60 km over the month, in one go or spread out, and Movember says the 60 stands for the 60 men lost to suicide worldwide every hour. You can join solo online, then find people to move with: a walk, a run club, a community event or a coffee.

A plain guide to the four ways Movember says you can take part, practical ideas for doing it when you are new in a city or on your own, and a careful note on talking about mental health. No specific 2026 local event is listed here: they are set up by the people who host them.

Four ways to take part, in Movember’s words

What we found

Ideas for doing Move with company

Low pressure and flexible. Take what suits you.

Sign up and set your pace

What
Sign up on Movember’s site or in its app, then choose Move.
How
The target is 60 km over the month. That is about 2 km a day, or a few longer outings. Walking counts.
Tip
Put your first outing in the calendar for the first weekend, and tell one person.

Walk with someone new

What
A walk is the easiest way to talk without having to look at each other.
How
Ask a colleague, a neighbour or someone from a language exchange for a 5 km walk. Each one takes a chunk out of the 60.
Tip
Pick a loop with a coffee stop in the middle. Suggest a start and end time so nobody feels trapped.

Join a run or walking club

What
Many cities have free weekly run or walk groups that welcome newcomers.
How
Come Alone has pages on run clubs and on walk-and-talk meetups. Check the organiser’s page for current times.
Tip
Say it is your first time and that you are doing Movember. Organisers often pair newcomers with a regular.

Find a community event

What
Movember encourages friends and communities to host events, from group workouts to a Mustache Bash.
How
Look at the Movember site for your country, and at local gyms, clubs and workplaces. We list no specific 2026 events here.
Tip
If you cannot find one, host a small one yourself and ask people to bring a friend.

Talk, without a script

What
Moving side by side makes talking easier. Ask “how are you really?” and then listen.
How
You do not need to fix anything. Say you are glad they came.
Tip
If someone seems to be struggling, say you care, and point to local help (see below). Do not try to be their counsellor.

Do your own thing

What
If running is not for you, Movember has its own ways of taking part.
How
Pick something you will do alone or with one other person, and tell them the reason.
Tip
Keep it small enough to keep going for 30 days.

Finding people to move with

You do not need a big plan. Choose one weekend morning, a route that is easy to talk on, and invite one or two people. Meet & Mint shows events and people near you on one map, so you can join something in your city alone, chat with the group beforehand and meet at the door. Come Alone lists evening events by city if you want a plan that is not about running.

Talking about mental health, and where to get help

This page is general information, not medical or professional advice. Movember describes itself as a men’s health movement that funds work in mental health and suicide prevention. If you or someone close to you is struggling, please reach out to someone you trust or to a local crisis line or support service. If someone may be in immediate danger, call your local emergency number. Movember’s Get support page lists services by country. We do not list phone numbers here because they differ by country and change.
