Le SAX

Le SAX, the music venue of Achères on the north-west edge of Paris, has run its Local Heroes nights for years: a call to musicians of the area, seasoned or not, to leave their rehearsal rooms, garages and cellars and play a proper stage with proper sound. Several bands in one evening, usually rock and its cousins, a bar, and a crowd of friends, neighbours and the curious. Free entry, no booking; RER A to Achères-Ville, then a ten-minute walk. Catch Impro: improv theatre as a wrestling match, Le SAX, Achères

Le SAX

On Friday 2 April 2027 at 20:30 Le SAX, the music venue at 2 rue des Champs in Achères, west of Paris near Saint-Germain-en-Laye, hosts Catch Impro. It is theatre, the listing insists, but improvised: a gang of wild improv wrestlers, in rotation Arnaud Joyet, Fabien Strobel, Jennie-Anne Walker, Virginie Gritten, Emmanuel Urbanet, Marion Billy and others, climb into the ring for a merciless theatrical fight. Two teams of two improvisers face each other, refereed by an umpire who grants themself every power, and the scenes are made up on the spot from the audience's energy. Tickets are in the venue's Paillettes band, from 8 to 17 euros, and the lowest price is used here. Improv nights are loud, playful and built around the crowd, so you never feel alone in the room, and the venue's bar makes it easy to stay on afterwards. «CATCH IMPRO» Starts 20:30, ends about 23:30.
