Ball voguing night with Vinii Revlon, Le Lieu Unique, Nantes

On Saturday 27 February Le Lieu Unique, the arts centre by the quay in Nantes, hosts a voguing ball led by Vinii Revlon, described as a leading ambassador of voguing in France. Dancers, beginners and veterans alike, are invited to walk the runway in front of the public and compete before a jury. The organisers note that this has been a regular date of the ballroom scene at the venue for five years and is open to everyone. Balls are competitions that mix dance, fashion and performance, born in the Latino and African-American LGBT communities, and they are organised in several categories. A workshop before the ball lets newcomers try out the categories first. Entry is a single price of 10 euros, and the listing is in French.
