Melodylux Christmas choral concert, Sello Library, Espoo

Sello Library

On Sunday 20 December the Sello library in Leppävaara, Espoo, hosts a free choral concert with Christmas music. Four soloists from the Melodylux group, Irina Malychenko, Alexandra Selmer, Ingrid Urho and Elisa Paananen, perform under the direction of their teacher Aleksandra Huhtala-Labzounov. The library describes the programme as festive and atmospheric, promising seasonal songs and more besides, and the listing is written in English, so visitors from abroad can follow the details easily. Entry is free and no ticket or registration is mentioned. The concert begins at 16:00 and is scheduled to end at 17:30, a gentle Sunday-afternoon plan in the weeks before Christmas, easy to enjoy alone and to combine with a walk around the Sello shopping centre next door. The library is at Leppävaarankatu 9. «Melodylux concert» Starts 16:00, ends about 17:30. Source: City of Helsinki / City of Espoo — LinkedEvents (CC BY 4.0).

Finnish-language library book club on Rajalinja, Tapiola, Espoo

Tapiola Library

On Tuesday 2 February 2027 the Tapiola Library, at Kulttuuriaukio 2 in Espoo, holds a session of its book club in Finnish. The listing explains that in a library book club the participants discuss together a book chosen for the meeting, which they have read beforehand. The title for the 2 February meeting is Rajalinja by Carolina Pihelgas, and the programme for the season also lists books by Coetzee, Ratinen, Räinä and Strout, among others. The club is free and held in Finnish, and the page is available in English, Finnish and Swedish. Tapiola is a garden-city district in Espoo with a cultural centre next to the library, so a visit can easily be combined with a walk or a coffee afterwards. A book club is one of the simplest social events to attend alone, because the book gives everyone something to talk about from the first minute. The club starts at 11:00 and ends at about 13:00. «Book club in Finnish» Starts 11:00, ends about 13:00. Source: City of Helsinki / City of Espoo — LinkedEvents (CC BY 4.0).

Host a walk & talk

No walk near you? Start one in a minute.

Create a free invite, share the link, and the people who say yes meet you at the start. This is the whole host kit:

  1. One easy meeting point — a station exit, a statue or a park gate anyone can find.
  2. 60–90 minutes, start and end time in the invite.
  3. A loop route so nobody is stranded at the far end.
  4. Finish at a café — the talk often continues sitting down.
