Opéra National de Bordeaux's Sunday-morning chamber concert shakes up songs by Fauré, Schumann, Ravel and Schubert with a touch of swing, in arrangements for a classic vocal-jazz line-up. The concert lasts 1 hour 15 minutes. The opera's website lists tickets at 10 € (5 € under 28), an easy late-morning outing alone.

Free first Sunday at the Musée des Beaux-Arts, Bordeaux

Like every first Sunday of the month, the fine-arts museum by the city hall gardens opens for free all day. It is also one of the last chances to see «Passions Collections», a show of ten years of acquisitions (2015–2025), alongside the permanent collections of European painting. A good quiet outing on your own for the first Sunday of the year. Free, no booking. «[Janvier] Premier dimanche du mois» Starts 11:00, ends about 18:00.
