On New Year's Eve the night watchman of Mauthausen takes one last round of the year, lantern in hand, through the lanes, old stairways and little squares of this thousand-year-old trading town on the Danube, telling its stories as he goes. A calm, atmospheric way to spend the early evening before the celebrations. Meet at Schloss Pragstein; adults 6 euros.
