Glöckler run with glowing caps through Abersee on the Wolfgangsee
One of the loveliest midwinter customs of the Salzkammergut: the Glöckler, dressed in white with bells at the waist and huge, delicately cut caps lit from inside, walk from house to house through the dark and dance their circles, spirals and figures of eight in perfect step. In Abersee on the Wolfgangsee they set off from the Gasthof Zinkenbachmühle at 16:00 and return there. Watch from the roadside; free. The end is not published, allow about three hours; the next day's run depends on the weather. «Glöcklerlauf in Abersee» Starts 16:00, ends about 19:00.
