Come Alone by Meet & Mint Events you can go to on your own

New Year's Eve alone · Genève

New Year’s Eve alone in Genève, without the pressure.

2 things you can walk into on your own in Genève between 27 December and 6 January, plus a plan you write in plain text.

The honest number. In a survey of 3,000 Americans run by Sunny and reported by the New York Post (December 2025), only 24% wanted to celebrate New Year’s Eve with other people, 35% planned to stream a show and 20% to go to bed early; 36% of Gen Z wanted to go out. It is one US survey, not a measure of your city, but it matches what this page does: it does not push a midnight club. Source ↗

New Year’s Day morning, the easy first plan

A walk, a swim or a slow brunch on 1 January has no countdown and no dress code: you only need a start time. Events are listed below when our data has them. Some parkrun locations hold an extra run on 1 January in some years; each location’s organisers decide, and we have not confirmed which will do so in 2027. Check your local parkrun page, or see this fan-maintained list of parkrun special event days (2026 edition) ↗ for how it has worked.

Cirva glass collections visit, Ariana Museum, Geneva

Musée Ariana - Musée suisse de la céramique et du verre

On Sunday 3 January at 11:00 the Ariana Museum in Geneva, Switzerland's museum of ceramics and glass, offers a guided tour of its exhibition on the collections of the Cirva, the glass research and creation centre. The exhibition looks at glass beyond its material, and a guide leads visitors through it and explains the pieces on show. Entry to the exhibition is free that day because it is the first Sunday of the month, and no booking is needed, though places are limited so it is wise to arrive a little early. The listing is in French and the museum is on Avenue de la Paix. The visit starts at 11:00 and ends at about 12:00, a gentle way to begin the new year alone. «Le verre, au-delà de la matière. MEG – Musée d'ethnographie de Genève

What does «the future» mean to you? A thoughtful, chatty hour and a half in French, ideal for meeting curious people. Free (CHF 0). «Visite commentée: Le futur, c'est quoi ?» Starts 14:30, ends about 16:00. Three levels

Pick the pressure you want

  1. Early evening, before 21:00. A table booked for one, a film, a game night, a concert with a printed start time. Home before the loud part.
  2. Midnight among people. A public countdown or fireworks where nobody expects you to talk. Arrive early, stand near the edge, decide the way home before you go.
  3. The first morning. Skip the night, set an alarm for 1 January: a walk, a swim or brunch, with a start time.
