On Tuesday 5 January the Jardin de Lecture media library in Saint-Aignan-de-Grand-Lieu, south-west of Nantes, hosts a free introduction to genealogy. The town runs it with the Société des Historiens du Pays de Retz for people who wonder where their family comes from, want to start their tree, or feel stuck in their research. In a small group you learn the basic notions, review documentary sources and research tools, with a focus on searching online to rebuild your family history. This is the first of four monthly afternoons on 5 January, 2 February, 2 March and 6 April. The workshop is free but needs registration by phone or online, and it is in French.
